Last Thursday, January 7, 2021, the 40-year-old Russian swimmer Yekaterina Nekrasova<\/strong><\/a> has surpassed the Guinness World Record in the category of “Longest swim under ice – breath held (no fins, no diving suit) female” equivalent to the underwater freediving modality of dynamic apnea without fins under ice, when making a course of 85 meters in Lake Baikal in Siberia.<\/p>\n

This modality tests not only the physical and technical capacities of the athlete, but also their concentration and tolerance to low temperatures, since it does not allow the use of a diving suit that allows to withstand and tolerate the cold water.<\/p>\n
