Essentially, it is a full contact sport that is played in dive pools or special pools that are from three to five metres deep. The balls are filled with salt water, allowing them to move around freely and be placed in baskets at the bottom of the pool.<\/p>\n

There are typically 12 people on an underwater rugby team with 6 under the water at once and 6 on the side waiting to be swapped in. This is essential when you consider the need for breathing time when you are underwater.<\/p>\n
