Sunday, June 12th<\/strong>\u00a0marked the\u00a0first day of the Championship<\/strong>\u00a0with two freediving disciplines:\u00a0Dynamic Apnea without Fins<\/strong>\u00a0started the day with Poland having a great start!\u00a0Mateusz Malina<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Julia Kozerska<\/strong>\u00a0took the gold, 233,8 and 210 meters respectively, with\u00a0Julia\u00a0<\/strong>setting\u00a0a brand new World Record<\/strong>!\u00a0Valia Peles\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Guillaume Bourdila<\/strong>\u00a0completed the Men’s Podium, while\u00a0Mirela Kardasevic<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Magdalena Solich-Talanda<\/strong>\u00a0completed the Women’s Podium!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

In the\u00a0Junior’s DNF Category,<\/strong>\u00a0Turkey dominated most if not all competition, with\u00a0Ege Yanki Gunes\u00a0<\/strong>being the top man and\u00a0Ceylin Iptes\u00a0<\/strong>the top woman.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Master’s Category, Aris Ioannidis from Greece<\/strong>, was awarded the gold medal and\u00a0Denmark’s Peter Munk Truelsen<\/strong>\u00a0got the silver, despite having a physical handicap. He also got the\u00a0World Record in Master’s DNF with a physical handicap<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The second discipline was 16x60m Endurance Apnea.<\/p>\n

In the Junior Men’s Category\u00a0Ege Yanki Gunes<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0Turke<\/strong>y\u00a0held the gold once more with\u00a0Germany’s Simon Venediger\u00a0<\/strong>getting the silver.<\/p>\n

The competition in the men’s category was especially exciting, and the\u00a0Frenchman Guillaume Burdilla<\/strong>\u00a0triumphed.\u00a0The new world record is now 274.7 meters<\/strong>, and it is interesting that the second place was won by the\u00a0Pole Mateusz Malina<\/strong>\u00a0with a distance\u00a0of 274.06 meters, which was also almost\u00a010 meters better than the previous best result in the world<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the women’s competition,\u00a0the title of world champion was won by Croatian Mirela Karda\u0161evi\u0107<\/strong>, who set\u00a0a new world record with a result of 250 meters<\/strong>. The Championships shall be comprised of seven specialties: Dynamic (DYN), Dynamic with Bi-Fins (DYNBF), Dynamic without Fins (DNF), Static (STA), Speed 100m, Endurance 8x50m, and Endurance 16x50m. Only the Final stage will take place for each of the planned specialties.<\/p>\n

The event is open to athletes aged 15 and over and belonging to National Teams fully complying with the provisions of CMAS Regulations.<\/p>\n

Athletes from 15 to 17 years old participate in junior category.
\nThe senior category correspondents to age 18 to 49.
\nAthletes who are at least 50 years old belong to the master\u2019s group.<\/p>\n
