The CMAS World Cup for Clubs in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will be held from the 6th to the 9th of March. Team registration is closed, and 20 teams will compete in the Tijucas and Maricas Islands zones. Ten teams are from Brazil, divided into two quotas: five from Rio de Janeiro State and five from the rest of Brazil.

These quotas, agreed upon at the beginning of the organization between LOC and CMAS, as we strongly believe, are important for sportsmanship and fairness in competition. Ten teams have arrived in Rio de Janeiro from different parts of the world, including Italy, Croatia, Cyprus, Spain, Ecuador, Peru, and Uruguay.

Among the many notable names on the list are two former world champions: George Vasiliou (Cyprus) and Stefano Bellani (Italy), the vice-world champion Maurizio Ramacciotti (Italy), the former Spanish national team member Raul Astorga, who won the first edition of the World Cup for Clubs held in Tunisia, as well as members of the national team of Cyprus Nicolas Nicolau and Stelios Yiangou, among many others.
