Dear Underwater Activities Community,
As many of you already know, the devastating double earthquake that struck Venezuela last Wednesday, June 24th, has left victims, losses, and a profound sense of sorrow in our country.
From Caracas, where we experienced this earthquake, we want to send, first and foremost, a fraternal embrace and our most sincere condolences to those who have lost loved ones, as well as to those who have lost their homes. We extend our full solidarity to the hardest-hit regions, especially the state of La Guaira and the areas that have been most affected.
We want to express our deepest gratitude and respect to all members of the underwater community who, from the very first moment, have bravely joined the search, rescue, and support efforts, as well as to those who have been actively collecting supplies for the victims. Your solidarity reflects the values that unite us in underwater activities.
We know that this is a tragedy with different phases; Therefore, in the coming days, we will evaluate and seek the best mechanisms so that, from our platform and community, we can continue to gather support in the most effective and organized way possible during the recovery phase.
At Sportsub & Sportalsub, we have always seen ourselves as a large family united by the same ideals. In times like these, underwater activities take a back seat, and the absolute priority is life, mutual support, and reconstruction.
If you are part of our community and need support, or if you are safe in the affected areas, please let us know. Our network is open for communication.
We invite those who are in a safe position to support the official collection centers and civilian humanitarian aid efforts. Every small action counts in supporting the victims of this tragedy.
Let’s continue to pay attention to the instructions of the authorities and organized groups that are collaborating in the different areas of action.
To our brothers and sisters in the international underwater community, thank you for your messages of encouragement and your continued concern. Their energy reaches us powerfully and makes us feel supported.
Underwater sports teach us to withstand pressure, to remain calm in the most difficult moments, and to always surface for a stronger breath. This time will be no exception.
With hope and resilience, a hug from Caracas.
